What can I emboss on?
Our hydraulic embossing machines can emboss on the following: Acetate, Acryl, Cotton, Fleece, Flock Foil, Leather, Linen, Lycra, Melton, Neoprene, Nylon, Polar Fleece, Paper, Plastic, Polyacryl, Polyamide, Polyester, Polypropylene, Polyurethane, Polyvinyl, Polyvinlyclorid, PVC, Rubber, Silk, Viscose, Wool.

Can I emboss on finished goods?
Yes, our Permaboss.com Inc. equipment allows for finished goods such as T-shirts, sweats, all jackets without linings or those with zippered linings, leather products and caps to be embossed with ease. Remember that the embossing is only as good as the quality of the garment.

I heard that backing materials are the downfall of embossing is this true?
Yes that was correct. Until recently there were really only three choices of backings, all had poor wash-ability, tended to have glue seepage and were not conducive to production due to the need to die cut or hand cut the backing. Non-woven materials, low volume produced glue fleece backings and home made glue solutions resulted in creating a poor reputation, time required to emboss was always 45 seconds to one minute and the garments often became scored.

BOSSBACKtm Foam is a worldwide-patented backing material that tears away like embroidery backings. The advantages are that a foam fills the cavities and keeps the image raised and filled instead of hollow, wash-ability is simply amazing and it requires about 15 seconds or less in the embossing machine. Bossback™ is the only Wal-Mart embossing backing, it has been tested time and again and meets or exceeds all QC test for longevity and washability. Bossback™ will last the life of the garment.

What is the Market Demand?
The most beautiful feature about embossing is that we have entered a near virgin market. Embossing today is at the same stages embroidery was 10 or 15 years ago. Those who venture into the market had a wide-open territory. Today there is a massive saturation of screen printers and embroidery houses simply look in your yellow pages if you need a reminder. (FYI, over 16,000 screeners and over 12,000 embroidery companies) Combining embossing with traditional methods of decoration make this decoration exciting. Embossing is like everything else you do, you need to promote it, people don’t generally ask for things they don’t know exist! Its our jobs to promote it. Advertising companies love embossing because there is hardly any competition, as it is relatively new to most customers; virtually no direct competition means that the profit margins are still intact for those who have to resell our services.

Where do I get the molds/dies?
Mboss.com has all the services you require. It is as simple as taking your color image or logo and e-mailing it to us. We convert it to gray scale or black and white then allow the engraver machine to take over. The darker the grayscale the deeper the engraving, it is that simple. Costs of the dies are now cheaper than ever, you can safely assume that embossing is more expensive than screen printing but cheaper than embroidery of equivalent size!
